AUROLAB
Aurolab, the manufacturing division of Aravind Eye Hospital, supplies high quality ophthalmic consumables at affordable prices to developing countries. Since its inception in 1992 as a non-profit charitable trust, Aurolab has set up manufacturing facilities to produce intraocular lenses (IOLs), suture needles and pharmaceuticals.
SUTURE NEEDLE DIVISION:
Established with technical knowledge from Europe, our state-of-the-art facility manufactures high quality micro suture needles used in Ophthalmic and microsurgeries with wire diameters starting from 70 microns. Since our inception we had produced more than eight million ophthalmic suture needles. Custom made products are also manufactured by us. We are exporting to 120 countries and involve our self in private labeling.
Aurolab Suture Needle Division is certified by UL as ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003. Suture needles in Nylon and Silk are certified by USFDA and most of our products are CE certified. The World Health Organization (WHO) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification was awarded to the division, confirming that all suture needles are made in compliance with international standards.

Aurolab manufactures entire range of ophthalmic sutures which includes Nylon, Silk (Virgin & Braided), Polypropylene and Polyester sutures with different needle combinations. Apart from the ophthalmic range, Aurolab produces Hand surgical sutures and we are the only one manufacturer in India who produces 70 micron needle attached with 11-0 USP suture. In near future we will be launching our absorbable suture range (PGA).
