Die Firma BioSciTec Science Group wurde 1997 in Marburg gegründet. Damals noch als Einzelgesellschaft, entwickelten wir eine Software zur Auswertung von Gelen und Blots. Eine praxisnahe und einfach zu bedienende Software war unser Ziel. Heute ist Gelscan in der 5 Generation und ein professionelles Tool, welches in über 400 Instituten, Firmen und Universitäten mit wachsenden Erfolg eingesetzt wird.

Mittlerweile sind weitere Programme hinzugekommen. Der CellExplorer entwickelte sich zu einer Mikroskopie- und Vermessungssoftware, die in keinem Labor mehr fehlen sollte. Gelscript, eine Software zur Beschriftung von Gelen, hilft Studenten und Wissenschaftlern bei der Erstellung von Doktorarbeiten, Publikationen in Zeitschriften, Dia- und Posterpräsentationen.

Die Stärke unseres Konzepts ist die Nähe zu unseren Kunden. Als “Wissenschaftler haben wir Software für Wissenschaftler “geschrieben, so die Presse, die unsere Produkte getestet hat. Wir können unsere Produkte sehr flexibel an unsere Kunden anpassen und mit Ihnen weiterentwickeln.

2001 wurde die Firma BioSciTec in eine Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung umfirmiert. Neben unseren Standardprodukten, betreuen wir immer mehr Kunden und bieten Speziallösungen an. Hier hilft uns, dass Sprechen beider Sprachen – die der Wissenschaftler aus der Life Science Forschung und die der Informatiker und Mathematiker. Die schnelle Überwindung dieser Sprach- und Interessensbarrieren führt zu einer optimalen Betreung unserer Kunden und zu einem professionellen Projekt Management.

Gelscan 5.1 Standard – contains all the tools needed to assess gels. Calculation of molecular weight with several markers, automatic matching of gels, definition of in-house marks, visible smile correction, visible rectification of gels, band quantifications, calculation of unknown band quantities, standard curves, expression analyses and differential display analyses.

Gelscan 5.1 Standard – has been expanded by one gel management module. All data can be expressed in Word, PowerPoint and Excel formats with a single mouse click. Gelscan 5.1 automatically formats all texts, tables and graphs. Gelscan 5.1 produces finished slide and poster presentations in the format of your choice. Databases for archiving processed images and quality assurance modules that comply with the principles of GLP (no processing of originals, only of automatically generated copies and GLP documenting of image changes).

Gelscan 5.1 Standard – allows a high throughput during routine use, has professional, image-processing tools, programmed by scientists and extremely user-friendly. Gelscan 5.1 has a direct Internet connection, comprises interfaces for 5.1 phospho imager, scanner and camera, and evaluates thin-layer chromatograms. Gelscan 5.1 can send calculated gels via the Internet and communicate with other Gelscan software.
