About BMDi TUTA
BMDI TUTA is an Australian listed medical technology company engaged in the manufacture, marketing and sale of a broad range of medical devices used by healthcare facilities and critical care services in global markets. Our core strategy is to provide products that improve clinical and community safety, by delivering a range of safety-engineered medical devices designed to reduce the incidence of needle stick injuries, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, and provide a higher level of healthcare worker and patient safety.

BMDI TUTA focuses on five clinical therapy areas:
• Intravenous (IV) systems (gravity administration sets, extension sets, burettes, transfusion sets, speciality sets, needle-free devices, infusion devices and equipment);
• Safety injection and collection products (AD syringes and manual and auto-retractable safety syringes, medical waste containers, needle disposal systems);
• Blood banking;
• Surgical products; and
• Anaesthesia.

BMDI TUTA manufactures for an international customer base, encompassing public and private hospitals, defence forces, non-government and government aid organisations, and other critical care services, in addition to the manufacture of OEM products to other suppliers of medical devices.

MANUAL RETRACTABLE SYRINGES 16.10.2008

The BMDI Safety Retractable syringe engages the needle carrier in the plunger at the end of the injection stroke. Upon retraction of the plunger the needle is withdrawn safely into the barrel of the syringe, encapsulating the needle and eliminating the possibility of needle-stick injury. The plunger is then broken off at a designed weak point rendering the syringe unusable.

BMDi nomoresharps® 16.10.2008

BMDi Clinical Waste Sharps Collectors are used for discarding contaminated hospital and healthcare clinical sharps, including used hypodermic needles and syringes, scalpels, lancets and devices used in medical and surgical environments. These collectors can also be used for personal needs such as for diabetics in the home care environment.

The BMDi nomoresharps® collectors have secure leak proof screw-on or clip-on lids which remain attached with the collector when opened. Each model collector has a maximum fill/volume line positioned at the recommended fill capacity. BMDi nomoresharps® collectors are available in industry standard yellow and red colours and in purple for cytotoxic waste.

All containers are manufactured of either polypropylene or polyethylene and can be incinerated or autoclaved. The BMDi nomoresharps® collectors meet both Australian (AS/NZS AS4031:1992) and British (BS 7320:1990) standards for leakage, spillage and puncture resistance, eliminates penetration and Sharps Injury Risk.

All BMDi nomoresharps® collectors are appropriately labelled with either screen printed or stick-on labels and packaged for shipping in strong cardboard cartons with the weight, dimensions and carton size clearly recorded.

MINI SYSTEM PORTABLE 16.10.2008

Designed for use in developing countries where mass immunization and curative care programs undertaken, the nomoresharps® Mini system combines a high-grade stainless steel cutting device connected to a security caged sharps container. With the needle & syringe tip inserted in the cutting aperture, the nomoresharps® system will amputate the hub from the syringe, destroying both the syringe and the needle, allowing the needle pieces to fall straight into the sharps container. The remaining unusable syringe goes then to waste or recycling. The BMDi nomoresharps® provides an extremely efficient and cost effective method of sharps disposal. It has been developed primarily for use in the healthcare and hospital industry in third world and developing countries, as well as in vaccination programs sponsored by WHO, the UN, PATH and UNICEF to provide safe disposal of used needles
